Insurance Enrollment Guide
Here's what you need to do to make sure you get all of your benefits.

Part time employees are eligible for Short Term Disability and Life Insurance. If you are a part time employee please follow the process described below to enroll only in these plans.
WHAT TO KNOW
If you have a permanent position with Joseph City Schools and regularly work 30 hours or more per week, you may be eligible for employee insurance benefits. If you just started work here and are eligible or you’ve been working here and just now became eligible, this GUIDE will help you enroll so you can receive your insurance benefits. Part-time employees working between 20 and 29 hours per week may also be eligible for district-paid life and disability benefits so you will also need to add beneficiary information during open enrollment this year.
You can do everything online to study your options and to enroll. This email contains links to all the information and rates. You will receive a separate email with a link to the enrollment website from “Zywave”. If you still need help, we have people available by email, phone and virtual meetings who are ready to answer your questions.
The “buy-out” option is a payment of $1,500 per year paid to employees who choose not to enroll in a health insurance plan in lieu of receiving school health insurance coverage. BUT you can’t get the buy-out payment unless you fill out the enrollment form AND you are able to get insurance coverage through your spouse.
Once you choose your benefit plans and enroll, they are set for the year. You cannot make any further changes this school year unless you experience a qualifying life event such as birth or adoption of a child, marriage, divorce or if your dependents lose/gain coverage elsewhere.
The District contributes $1,500 per year to Health Savings Accounts for those with HDHP plans.
The District pays some of the cost of family insurance premiums. This helps lower your premium costs.
