Sale of surplus property

Joseph City Schools sells its surplus equipment, furniture, vehicles and supplies to the public through online auctions. Our online auctions are managed by Public Group, LLC. Information about Public Group and our auctions are on their website www.PublicSurplus.com.

When are online auctions held?

Online auctions are held several times throughout the year. Opening and closing dates of auctions will be listed below.

What items will be auctioned?

The items to be auctioned can be viewed only during the auction dates listed above at www.PublicSurplus.com, then enter Joseph City in the Search field.

How to bid on auctions

  1. How do I get to the online auction? Click here to go to auction website at www.PublicSurplus.com

  2. Are you registered? If not click here and we will help you get registered.

  3. How do I find the Joseph City Schools auction? Enter "Joseph City" in the Search field.

  4. What category are you looking for?  Click on the category or subcategory on the main Catalog page to choose which area you want to look at.

  5. What item are you looking for? Once you find the correct category and subcategory, scroll through the list of items until you find an item that interests you. Clicking on the auction title will take you to the bid page.

  6. How do I make a bid on an item? Enter the amount you want to bid on the item and click the "Submit" button. Before you make an offer on an item however, please thoroughly read all of the terms of the bid, such as payment methods, shipping, and item description. Some agencies have their own Terms and Conditions. Please make sure you read them carefully.

  7. What are the terms and conditions? To view the terms and conditions, go to www.PublicSurplus.com and click on "Help" or just click here. Then select Terms & Conditions in the Help Category box drop-down menu.

  8. Need help with the auction website? Go to www.PublicSurplus.com and click on "Help" in the upper left corner or just click here. Then select a Help Category in the drop-down menu.

  9. Need help from someone at Joseph City Schools? Send and email to: SurplusProperty@jcusd.org. Include your name, contact information and question.

Pick-Up Hours

Pickup hours for each auction will be posted on the auction website. If you need to arrange an alternate pick-up time, send your request to: SurplusProperty@jcusd.org.

Include your name and contact information, items purchased and pick-up date & time requested. We will contact you within 24 hours to confirm.

Pick-Up Procedures

Upon receipt of payment, you will be notified by email sent to the address you provided at registration with PublicSurplus.com. You must bring to the pick-up location:

  1. Notice of Award and

  2. Paid receipt and

  3. Picture identification (such as a Driver License).

You must present all three identification items at the scheduled pick-up, or the auction item(s) will not be released to you.

Pick-up items for someone else

If you are picking up an item for someone else, you will need to bring to the pick-up location:

  1. Notice of Award and

  2. Paid receipt (photo copies are acceptable) and

  3. Note from the designated winning bidder specifically naming you as authorized representative and

  4. Your own personal picture identification and

In addition, the winning bidder must send an e-mail from the winning bidder’s e-mail address used for the auction, stating that you are authorized to pick-up the item.
