Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, regular bus transportation will no longer be provided for students who live within one mile of their school.
What is changing
• Students within one mile of school should walk or be transported by a parent or guardian.
• Designated Joseph City bus stops: North Porter Avenue; 3rd North Avenue (off Porter Avenue); and South Hansen Avenue.
Who will continue to receive transportation
Students who qualify through an IEP, the McKinney-Vento Act, foster care requirements, or other applicable laws will continue to receive transportation.
What families should do
• Review transportation eligibility.
• Make arrangements before the first day of school.
• Contact the Transportation Department with questions about routes, designated stops, or special circumstances.
This change supports efficient, sustainable transportation services while we continue to safely serve eligible students.
