New State Healthy Schools Act in Effect
Pick up your guide at the office during Open House on August 3 from 6-7pm!
The Arizona Healthy Schools Act (HB 2164) takes effect for the 2026–2027 school year, banning specific additives and synthetic dyes in public school meals.
The restrictions apply to all school-provided food—including cafeterias, vending machines, and classroom treats—from midnight until 30 minutes after school ends. Home-packed lunches are excluded - students cannot share or trade.
