The Elementary main gym has a new floor ready for students return on January 9.
Today in Anatomy and Physiology, our students tested different drinks to see which ones conducted electricity and therefor would be better for our hearts in conducting the cardiac signal.
We tested:
Sprite
Water
2 different gatorade
Propel
Poweraid
salt water
Salt water conducts electricity where the others failed. Sole Water is a mixture of pink Himalayan salt and water and it is a better electrical conductor than sports drinks or soda or water. During exercise, the body is depleted of necessary electrolytes. Those electrolytes are necessary for your heart to conduct the electrical impulse from the SA node located in the Right Atrium of the heart to the rest of the heart for an effective beat.
Sole Water is also much cheaper than sports drinks and has zero sugar or color additives.
Joseph City Wrestling will be competing at Winslow High School on Wednesday 13 December at 3:00 pm.
Kayla Begay won the 132 weight class with a sudden victory overtime win. She was also named Outstanding Wrestler. Joseph City was awarded the Witt award for outstanding sportsmanship as well.
Kayla Begay has eaned a spot in the finals of the Show Low Witt Onvitational in the 132 lbs weight class.
High School Wrestling competed in the Pat Kenny Invitational. Ben Beatty (215) and Tytan Penrod (165) won 5th-place, Cory McLaws (113) Placed 4th, and Kayla Begay (132) was runner-up.
